0.62 lots is the honest FX size and 0.25 lots is the clean gold size
The Dual Step day is $1,000, 4% of $25,000. The static maximum is $2,000, so equity at $23,000 ends the account. Phase 1 is also $2,000. Half a percent is $125. Majors pay $10 per pip at 1.00 lot, so a 20-pip stop wants 0.625 lots. Use 0.62 lots and the cash risk is $124. Use 0.70 lots because the ladder looks nicer and the cash risk is $140.
Gold is cleaner here. A 50-pip stop at 0.25 lots is $125 exactly. Stretching that same 0.25 lot to an 80-pip stop makes it $200. Adding a second 0.25 lot because the first looks small makes two tickets $250, and they are often the same dollar trade. Bot controls should count correlated metals as one $125 budget, not as two polite ones.
Two full days equal the target you are chasing
Phase 2 is 5%, or $1,250. Three minimum trading days apply. Two complete $1,000 days are the entire $2,000 floor and the entire Phase 1 target. There is no third full day. A 2R winner at $125 pays about $250, so the first target is a run of modest results with losers included. Raising the unit to $250 so the target feels close means four losses are the day and eight losses are the floor.
Lightning on $25,000 is a $750 day and a $1,500 end-of-day trail. The $1,000 Dual Step note is $250 too loose for that exam. After a higher Lightning close, the trail steps up and the remaining distance shrinks even though the account is green. Nexus can use the same $1,000 and $2,000 loss lines as Dual Step. Do not assume it uses the same profit targets until you have read that contract.
A $1,000 float is the whole day, parked overnight
The 00:00 ThinkMarkets snapshot uses the higher of balance and equity. A $1,000 open gold gain is 4% of this account. Held across the clock, it can become tomorrow base. A full reversion then spends the entire next day on a trade yesterday would have called a win. Partial it down to a runner that is small next to $1,000.
Overnight holding is allowed. Funded weekend holding needs the swing add-on. A Sunday gap on 0.25 lots of gold is $10 per pip, so a 40-pip gap is about $100, most of one unit, before London opens. Under the funded news rule, the two minutes around a red-folder print are restricted. A stop that slips still debits the $1,000. Evaluation news is permitted, and the wide fill still has to fit inside $125 if that is the unit you wrote down.
Flatten near $812 so the round $1,000 exit stays unused
Equity Guard on Dual Step belongs near $812 of daily loss, 3.25% of $25,000. The official line is $1,000, which is too late. Lightning belongs near $562 against its $750 day. A $750 flatten on Dual Step leaves more buffer than $812, and it is still inside the firm line if you prefer a round number, but do not slide it all the way to $1,000. That slider is the breach.
Create a Venasri login and save 0.62 lots as the 20-pip FX default and 0.25 lots as the 50-pip gold default. If either stop is wider, drop the lot until the cash prints $125 again. The $15 you save by refusing 0.70 lots is small on one trade and decisive across a seven-trade morning.
